Sharon Kong, RD

Chose your coaching package

Sharon Kong, RD is a very positive, personable, and passionate individual.  She is enthusiastic, motivated, and devoted to her work as a registered dietitian and nutrition coach.  She helps and supports her clients as if they were her own family.  Her interest in nutrition and wellness started in her early teens when she was overweight.  Like many people, she lost her weight by dieting, restricting her favorite foods, and exercising too much.  She soon learned that this was not the best way to reach a healthy weight and was not the lifestyle she wanted to live.  Sharon started to incorporate her favorite foods, such as chocolate, barbeque chips, mint chocolate ice cream, and chocolate chip cookies, back into her life.  She realized that it was about how much and how often these were eaten.

Knowing that there are many people like herself, she wanted to empower individuals to live a healthier lifestyle that is realistic and sustainable.  Sharon received her B.S. in Dietetics at San Francisco State University, during which she felt even more strongly that nutrition played a major role in prevention as well as treatment of various health conditions and diseases.  After completing her dietetic internship at Cal Poly Pomona, she moved back to San Francisco to further her career.

In addition to working as a nutrition coach at Eating Free, she is also working at the private clinic in downtown San Francisco, MV Nutrition, with Manuel Villacorta and Sarah Koszyk.  She loves what she does and believes that moderation, being realistic, and having a great support system are important for success.

In her spare time, Sharon likes to spend time with her family and friends.  She loves to cook, paint pottery, rock climb, and watch movies.  When she is stressed, you will find her cleaning, taking a walk, writing, or drawing.  When all else fails, shopping!
