Manuel’s Healthy Hummus

 
LOW White Bean Hummus 2

Garbanzo beans, aka chickpeas, are round legumes with a nutty, buttery taste. It is because of the flavor profile that it is perfect for the famous side dish, hummus. I made this hummus, which has less calories than commercial versions, so that you can taste more of the garbanzo beans nutty flavor with an assortment of your favorite veggies. Here, I keep the taste simple and make this a flavorful item perfect for any time of the year.

Ingredients:

2 cups garbanzo beans, cooked
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 garlic cloves
¼ teaspoon cumin
lime juice to taste

Directions:

Combine in a food processor or hand-crush. Enjoy with your choice of vegetables or whole grain pita.

Serving Size: 2 tablespoons;  Yields: 2.5 cups
